Cracklin' Oat Bran is a breakfast cereal introduced in 1977 by Kellogg's. It is an oat Cereal made with cinnamon and nutmeg. Its flavor can best be described oatmeal cookie-like with a crunchy texture. Originally, the recipe was made with coconut oil, but health and consumer advocates forced the Kellogg's Company to change the formula due to its large saturated fat content in 1989. The recipe now uses palm oil to give the cereal a sweeter taste.
